BACK TO NICARGAGUA

Greetings friends and supporters.  We wanted to share with you the latest news from the Caton family.  2013 has been a prosperous year for us and we are looking forward to great things in 2014. God has been giving us some direction on our work in Nicaragua and we are vey excited to tell you we are headed back very soon.  Today we finally got the papers for our next marching orders.  We are headed back to Nicaragua on the 27th of January for three and a half weeks.

God continues to be good, and opening doors at just the right time…never to early, never too late, but always right on time…His time.   That keeps us dependent on him, as we should be.

We have once again been blessed with a house to rent from some missionary friends who work at the Nehemiah Center and are on furlough in Canada.  We also have transportation waiting at arrival from the old Toyota Land Rover that Norma has lovingly christened, “o’l Mater”

This trip will be jammed packed, as we are in the process of forming some strategic partnerships and building new relationships as well as strengthening old ones.  We will also tie up some loose ends for the August Ginger Creek Church Service Leadership Team (SLT) trip and begin preparation for 2015 ministries.  So, our work is really cut out for us.  We have planned two trips, and possibly three, before the end of 2014.

God is in control and will make it clear for us as we do our best to walk by faith. With the weak economy everyone is dealing with, it is proving to turn out better stewardship of God’s money to make two or three short trips in the year, rather than trying to stay in Nicaragua long-term.  As we have committed to our friends and supporters, we are accepting no salary, and any funds that are provided to us through gifts goes toward tavel expenses. We learned that living in the capital city of Managua is not economical. Grocery costs are equal to, or more than we pay in the States, gas is more than stateside, and so living on the economy in Nicaragua’s capital is expensive.

In Caton family news, we look forward to having a lot of family time. It’s a special blessing to us that our son, David, and his sweet little family live just five minutes from us. We enjoy them regularly.

In the Spring, our daughter, Debbie, son-in-law Giles and kids will be back in the States for home service. They are missionaries in Spain. In the summer, we’ll all be joining extended family in Colorado for a Caton family reunion.

God has been so good to our family.  He has showered us with so many undeserved blessings.
We wish to thank you for all your prayers and ask you to please continue praying for us. If God lays it on your heart to be a ministry partner financially in this year’s Nicaraguan projects, we ask you to send a check payable to: PICI.
